The flat-topped peak on a long ridge that runs from Traverse Peak to the divide, Traverse Peak is in a remote part of Grand Teton National Park. This route begins by following the eastern shore of Leigh Lake and then the western shore of Moran Bay in Jackson Lake. From the most western point of the lake, the route begins up a beautiful and wild canyon along the base of the ridge. To reach the summit, the hike follows an obvious couloir on the south face that descends between Traverse Peak and Bivouac Peak. Once of the top, follow the ridge west to the summit of Traverse Peak.
