The upper section of the Gros Ventre River is a relaxing paddle through a scenic alpine setting. Paddlers will encounter lots of twists and turns but a slower-moving current through this portion of the river. There may be possible log jams and snags to be avoided while on the river. The Gros Ventre Road travels very near the river at multiple spots creating easy access to the river.
