In the heart of the North Absaroka Range, Windy Mountain is the only peak in Sunlight Basin that is high enough to be visible from outside the Basin's rim. This is an easy climb to the top of the mountain along the western ridge and is in the heart of one of the wildest mountain ranges. Use caution, as grizzly bears, black bears, mountain lions, and wolves are incredibly thick in this area. Bring a hiking partner and take bear spray. Access to where this route begins is closed between December 16th and April 30th.
