The lake is situated on the eastern slopes of the scenic Wind River mountains and provides paddlers excellent opportunity for viewing wildlife and fishing. There are picnic sites and developed campgrounds at the lake with popular hiking trails nearby that access the Popo Agie Wilderness Area.
