This section of AZ 89A between Flagstaff and Sedona is a scenic but very challenging and dangerous ride that follows a well-traveled, narrow 2-lane highway through Oak Creek Canyon. The one-way downhill trip is considered a very risky ride as there are lots of twists and turns with very little shoulder room, so cautious and skillful riding is crucial. Getting an early start is a good way to avoid some of the traffic. Both Sedona and Flagstaff offer lots of accommodations, food stops, and supplies.
