This trail is located in the Sonoran Desert National Monument and is a remote trail that offers some very rugged desert scenery. The first section of the trail is an old jeep road that is well-maintained but as the trail progresses through a wide wash it becomes less obvious so cairns are used to show the route. The trail then leads through a narrow wash that is easy to follow until the junction with Brittlebush Trail. The Margie's Cove trail does continue on further past this point to the east trailhead but the junction with Brittlebrush Trail is a common turnaround point for hikers who do not want to shuttle vehicles. The trail is very remote and exposed, and there is no water available along the trail, so bring plenty of water and avoid hiking during the heat of the summer or during times of possible flash flood.
