Climbing Routes

Take Iron Springs Road west out of Prescott and turn right onto Granite Basin Road. Eventually you'll come to the Granite Basin Recreation Area, where you can park and access Trail 261. There is a low cost user fee required for parking here. When Granite Mountain Wall is closed for the annual peregrine closure, Waves of Rock is a great place to consider. It's a cluster of large slabs that can be observed on a hillside at the southwestern edge of the basin. Expect some multi-pitch, high quality climbing on these granite slabs. Make a left turn off Trail 261 and heads towards Clark Springs Trail (40) and hike past a pump-house. You'll then cut across the drainage areas and the bouldery terrain to get to the base of the crag. Bring a full rack of gear.
