Located on New Hogan Reservoir, this paddle trip explores the south arm of the lake as it follows the shoreline in and out of coves and inlets while passing a waterfall and several views of the surrounding grassy hillsides dotted with pines, oaks, and manzanitas. Keep a lookout for hawks, osprey, and bald eagles nesting in the trees above. Because of the open exposure, strong winds are common between the first cove and around the bend into the adjacent cove.
