Located on the North Fork Arm of Folsom Lake, this paddle trip puts in at Rattlesnake Bar and follows the east banks of the arm to Anderson Island. There are several inlets to explore and remnants of old mining sites to see. If you dock your boat and explore the shores, be cautious of poison oak growing in the underbrush. During summer months water levels significantly fluctuate and the steep banks of the lake are far more exposed, the scenery changes dramatically. Try this trip between spring and early summer when water levels are higher and the scenery is green and blooming with wildflowers. The only challenges are wind and boat driven waves and shallow rock outcrops.
