Simpson Meadow Trail ascends up a glacially carved canyon through a forest of pines and passes several open meadows filled with wildflowers. The trail makes several switchbacks as it climbs out of the canyon and forest toward Granite Pass and Granite Lake where it terminates. The trail This is intended to be an overnight trip. Many hikers camp in Lower and Upper Tent Meadows between 3.7 and 5 miles. In addition, there are areas to camp at and near Granite Lake. Check with Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park for required permits.
