The Arkansas River is one of the best rivers to paddle in the state and probably the most crowded. Brown's Canyon is considered the best whitewater section in the state and is well known in the United States. The canyon has incredible scenery through the rugged canyon with ponderosa and pinon pines that line the edges. This is a popular run with commercial rafts so expect large crowds in the summertime. There are 5 sections of technical rapids that are all class III. The whitewater is frequent and all the technical sections have good pools for recovery.
