This section of the Colorado begins in an open valley that parallels closely along I-70. It is easy paddling with no whitewater. The highlight of this run is the incredible entrance into Glenwood Canyon. The river enters the extremely narrow canyon with towering walls that rise as tall as 3,000 ft.
