Middle Frisco Trail follows the banks of the Middle Fork of San Francisco Creek as it meanders through a forest of ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, and spruce fir. The trail makes several switchbacks into alpine meadows filled with blooming wildflowers in July. Beyond the meadows, the trail climbs through a forest of bristlecone pine just before reaching a treeless lakes basin where two small lakes sit at the base of Bennett Peak and Pintada Mountain.
