Mount Democrat's South Slope offers advanced backcountry skiing experience or a fun winter mountaineering climb. There is no easy descent, just several fun chutes that range from 30-40 degrees. Bring crampons, an axe and helmet for the ascent. You could also use the standard approach and still descend the south slope. Avalanche danger is frequent during the spring here.
