The Angel of Shavano is a snow feature that looks like an angel with arms and wings. It is located right in the center of the southeast slopes and offers a fun spring snow climb and skiing route. If there is continuous snow, climbing up the angel and then up the east ridge to the summit is the best route. Without continuous snow the standard route up the south ridge would be the best choice. The actual summit doesn't come into sight until you are a few yards below the top. Views are excellent from up top. An ice axe and helmet are recommended for climbing the Angel.
