Pyramid Peak is a rugged fourteener and considered one of the tougher peaks to summit. This route is steep and exposed with loose rock. Rock fall is a serious hazard so be sure to wear a helmet. Begin at Maroon Lake Trailhead and follow the main trail to the west end where the trail climbs steeply south just below Pyramid's north face. The rest of the route involves good route finding up class 3 and 4 moves through a steep and narrow gully. Most of the route choices are south of the ridge crest.
