Quandary Peak is a part of the 14ers and is known as one of the easiest and shortest to climb. This west ridge route offers a more interesting and fun adventure than the traditional easy foot trail up the north side. It begins just below the dam at Blue Lakes. Take the trail along the north shore and follow it up the hanging valley to the southwest of Quandary Peak and scramble across some class 2 rocks to the saddle. There are a few big obstacles of towers to climb near the summit. It can get difficult to find the best route but there is class 3 climbing at each obstacle. Beware of loose rock on the upper ridge.
