Within Gunnison National Forest is a prominent set of mountains known as the Ruby Mountain Range. This multi-day trip makes a loop following Silver Basin Trail and Dark Canyon Trail in and out of aspen groves and evergreens with several views of the mountain range to the east who's deep red hues add a beautiful contrast to the golden colored aspens during fall months.
