This begins at the winter trailhead to Torrey's Peak, the road is rough and is recommended to bring a 4WD vehicle. The first 1.75 follows the Gray's Peak Trail before it forks and continues to the saddle between Torreys and Kelso Mountain. You will scramble along the ridge. There are two main obstacles. The first is a point of white rock. Drop to the right and find the dirt gully that climbs to the base of the wall. This is class 3 but there are options for more difficult lines if you choose. You will continue scrambling along the ridge before reaching the crux known as “Knife Edge” also a class 3. Stay left of the large rocks and climb the right side of the tower. The final push to the summit is class 2 scrambling. For an easier descent follow the standard trail.
