This route follows the Washington Gulch forest road to the abandoned town of Elkton. The trail is easy to follow with gentle rolling terrain. The last half mile is steep. These cabins were used by miners hears ago and now available for overnight stay with advanced reservations. There is good skiing in the bowl to the east of Baldy Mountain. Be aware that snowmobiles are permitted in the area.
