The Harris Chain of Lakes is part of the Oklawaha River Basin and consists of nine lakes that provide lots of opportunity for outdoor recreation including miles of scenic shoreline for paddling. The lakes are surrounded by suburban development but much of it consists of scenic and charming towns that are fun to see and visit. Lake Eustis is a 7800-acre lake situated between the communities of Eustis and Tavares. It connects to Lake Harris and Lake Dora and offers plenty of paddling trip options. A lot of the property surrounding the lakes is private so be sure to only land and launch on public access sites.
