This trail is in one of the most remote areas of Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. The trail you will follow is also used by horses and park service vehicles. As you travel up Brush Mountain, you will pass by Shillalah Falls, a 15-foot waterfall. You will then make your way to the Hensely Settlement. This area has preserved the remains of pioneer homesteads from the early 1900's. The mapped trail goes around the settlement. Make sure to leave plenty of time to explore inside the settlement. There is no official trailhead parking but vehicles can use the small turnout on the north side of the road. Do not block the gate as park vehicles use the road.
