This straight and easy paddle follows a canal located in the Bonnet Carre Spillway just south of Lake Pontchartrain. The water is popular for fishing and crabbing but the area also offers interesting paddling and wildlife viewing opportunity, including birdwatching and spotting the occasional alligator. The Bonnet Carre Spillway area also offers miles of hiking trails and easy access to Lake Pontchartrain.
