The out-and-back trip follows the Bayou Terrebonne between the towns of Houma and Cocodrie as it travels south towards the Gulf of Mexico. The trip offers riders some of the best coastal and wetland scenery around. Along the way riders will see lots of fishing and shrimping boats. There are some good food stops and resting points at the turnaround point in Cocodrie. There is some traffic in Houma but the remainder of the ride has very mild traffic. There is no shoulder the last 10 miles but this should not be too much of an issue due to the low traffic in the area.
