China Lake is located less than 20 miles northwest of Augusta and offers miles of scenic shoreline for paddlers to explore. The freshwater lake consists of two main basins with access sites on both. This paddling trip explores the eastern half of the lake which is long and narrow with some development along its shoreline. The public access is on the very north end of the lake just off the causeway.
