Flagstaff Lake is the fourth largest lake in Maine - stretching over 20,000 acres. It's surrounded by forested hills and provides scenic mountainous views. There are several bays, coves, and inlets to explore. This particular mapped route covers the "v" shaped arm on the western side of the lake. Parking is a bit limited and a short carry may be required to reach the water's edge. Avoid paddling this lake when windy due to hazardous water conditions. Also note that this area is wilderness, and although this particular area of the lake is more developed, one may view animal species such as otter, moose, and even bear.
