Fayette State Park is a scenic and historic site that offers paddlers an excellent launching point for exploring the waters of Big Bay de Noc. The launch site is located along the eastern shoreline of Garden Peninsula. The scenery in the area includes heavily wooded terrain, limestone bluffs, and cobblestone beaches. Paddling the shoreline of the state park is a good option for beginner paddlers but advanced paddlers who are looking for more challenge can travel along the shoreline both north and south for more mileage and more exposed waters. Sand Bay is located just south of the launch and is also a good paddling destination for beginner paddlers.
