This scenic ride hugs the shoreline of Lake Huron as it travels entirely around Mackinac Island providing great water views along the way. The island is accessible by ferries which will transport bikes also but there are rentals available on the island if needed. The paved route the ride follows is a highway but motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island so car traffic will not be an issue. There are lots of walkers and horse-drawn carriages, however, so pay close attention to others. The island also offers lots of hiking and mountain biking trails.
