The Manistee River is located in the northern Lower Peninsula and is one of the longest rivers in the State of Michigan. The river is known for its excellent fly fishing but is also a great place for paddling. This section of the river has a decent, steady flow through wooded terrain that is mostly undeveloped with just a few structures and homes spread out along the way. Fewer crowds will be found paddling through this area providing lots of solitude. The only camping found along the route is at the put-in at the CCC campground.
