Cottage Grove Ravine Park has over 500 acres of hills, heavily wooded ravines, and some clearings of prairie. The variety in landscape brings different sun exposure on different parts of the trail which makes for divers plant life. The trail is lined with stands of maples, oaks, and birches. Animals that can be found in the area include cottontail rabbits, deer, grouse and several different bird species, including the large pileated woodpecker. Be aware that there is a Washington County park parking fee.
