The Superior Hiking Trail is over 270 miles long and follows a rocky ridgeline on Minnesota's North Shore along Lake Superior. With over 80 campsites and trailhead parking lots every 10 miles or so it makes for a backpacker and hiker daydream. This part of the Superior Hiking Trail features spectacular panoramic views of Lake Superior and the surrounding forest valleys. The forest that the path runs through is full of birch, aspen, pine, fir, and cedar. Be apprised that if you bring a dog it must be kept on a leash.
