The Superior Hiking Trail has been touted as one of the country's top ten nature trails. In all it is over 270 miles long and follows a rocky ridgeline on Minnesota's North Shore along Lake Superior. This section of the trail offers spectacular panoramic views from Mount Trundee, as well it has great forest scenery, characteristic of most of the trail. The forest that the path runs through is full of birch, aspen, pine, fir, and cedar. Be apprised that if you bring a dog it must be kept on a leash. Also, be aware that you will be required to drive on a dirt road for some time to get to the trailhead.
