This river has many rapids, small ledge drops and standing waves. It makes for a fun adventure while not having too much technical difficulty. Near mile 12, you will come across a 2-3 foot waterfall. It is recommended to go through on the left and make your way toward the right of the river. When water levels are high, a portage is required at the Highway CC low-water bridge at Hammond Camp Access. This is 5 miles into the float. In high water, the river can also be considered a low, Class III in a few places.
