This is a tree-lined, flat water river. The river starts is Iowa and follows down into Missouri passing through five counties and six conservation areas. The stream can be slow flowing which will require some paddling. There are some tributaries that run into the river but they are small. There are some strainers during dryer conditions. This is a good river to paddle if you are looking to stay close to Kansas City. This map has your starting point at the Platte Falls Conservation Area and ending at the Schimmel City Access. Both locations have boat ramps.
