This stretch of river contains the best whitewater on the Gallatin and spectacular scenery. The first set of rapids begin before a wicked bend known as Screaming Left Turn and then a challenging keeper named Hilarity Hole. The most difficult whitewater is between Cascade Creek and the Squaw Creek Bridge. This 3 miles section is for experts only and contains continuous rapids. The river is narrow with big rocks and hardly any time for recovery from one set of waves to the next. There are several access points along this route and places to pull out or put in before the big whitewater areas.
