The Rock Island Trail is an inner city paved trail that is fairly smooth and gentle. It begins next to some botanical gardens and passes by a small zoo. Although this is an inner city trail, there is a good amount of tree cover. Be sure to look out for Lincoln's Veterans Memorial Garden along the way.
