Lake James is a large reservoir located in rolling hill country of western North Carolina that offers over 150 miles of undeveloped shoreline for exploration. This lake has many side coves and channels that provide many different paddling trip options. You'll will also find occasional sandy beaches that make nice resting spots. There are multiple public launch areas on the lake. This trip starts from Canal Bridge access area located in the middle portion of the lake off of Highway 126.
