Souris River is located within the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge and is home to a variety of wildlife and birds. It is a popular and pleasant place for paddling and sightseeing. The Beaver Lodge Canoe Trail begins at the outlet fishing access. You will paddle downstream through ponds and cattails to the dam. No take-out facilities are available so you must paddle back upstream to the put-in location. Fishing is allowed but swimming is prohibited.
