A steeper and more alpine glacier than Whitewater to the east, Jefferson Park Glacier is a challenging, but rewarding route. The route begins by following Whitewater Trail to Jefferson Park Trail to the gorgeous Jefferson Park at the base of Mt Jefferson on the north side. The route up the mountain begins by staying to the east of the glacier and heading to the bergschrund. Stay to the right of the bergschrund for less rockfall. The route then follows the north ridge to the summit. Recommended to rope up across the glacier. Equipment needed includes: rope, crampons, ice axe, helmet and possible crevasse rescue capability.
