Slain Buffalo Wall | Val Verde County, Texas

Slain Buffalo Wall is one of the most popular walls at Pecos River Gorge in West Texas. Pesos River Gorge is not well documented, but has some great climbing with a great view. Be cautious as per the many signs asking you to be aware of your surroundings because of frequent illegal activity in the area due to it's proximity to the border. Slain Buffalo Wall is easily identified for its half pipe feature. It contains a few routes one the far right (south) but most are on the left (north). An alternative approach to this wall is to park near the closed campground at the top, walk down the gully, and rappel off some anchors at the north end of the Lawless Cave area near The Way Out route.
