Choprock Canyon is a challenging slot canyon with big rewards. Only experienced canyoneers should be entering this canyon. The approach begins at the Egypt trailhead. This should be done as a multi-day trip, camping along the Escalante River. When water is high, the difficulty is dangerous, unlike usual circumstances when higher water makes obstacles easier. Plan on hours of swimming and bring appropriate full wetusuits for protection against hypothermia. The longest rappel is 90 ft. Be prepared for possible flooded slots and wood jams.
