Cold Fusion is one of the 50 Classic ski descents in North America. It is on the northeast end of the iconic Timpanogos peak. It is an unforgettable climb up with an uninterrupted 2,500+ foot descent (depending on snowpack). It begins at Mutual Dell and follows the Bear Canyon trail to the Timpooneke road. Then ski along the Timpooneke road until you come the bottom of the couloir. Then start your ascent straight up the line. Cold Fusion Couloir is a steep, dangerous, and avalanche path averaging a 40 degree pitch. Only attempt this route under safe conditions and with proper knowledge and experience in avalanche terrain.
