Hotel Rock is perhaps the best ride in Bears Ears National Monument. It's a combination of slick rock and dirt double track, that is also used by off road vehicles. The first half of the trail is a steep technical climb on slick rock with a couple great canyon overlooks. You should be prepared for strenuous climbing with many small steps and obstacles. This makes for a challenging climb and a technical descent with a lot of potential drops, many of which can be circumnavigated if desired. The second half of the ride is a less steep double track across the top of the plateau. The trail ends at Hotel Rock which has a great Anasazi ruin with a view of the valley below. The difficulty rating comes from several large obstacles.
