This brief but rewarding summit hike follows the Appalachian Trail as it hugs the ridgeline up from VA 60 to the summit of Bald Knob. This path runs a steady and quite manageable incline along several switchbacks, with ample opportunities to soak in a good view or two of the surrounding area before reaching the summit of Bald Knob. From here, take in a massive vista of the George Washington National Forest stretched out across the mountains to the south.
