The navigation of this trip is easy, you can see the lighthouse from the put in. You will paddle through a broad marsh. The lighthouse was originally built on land; erosion, storms and hurricanes separated the two. This created a shallow channel in between them. The bottom is covered with lush grass and near the shore; you will find red beard sponge, with large and small fish swimming around. You should avoid the high wind season, which is early spring and fall. After going around the lighthouse, you may want to surf your kayak along the southern tip of land.
