As you put in at Poquoson, cut straight across to the other side of the pilings. You will pass the large military and NASA complex. Where it used to farmland and watermen community, now it is home to the military personnel. As you go down the river, turn around and get back out, cut across and take a right to the beach. From the island to the shore, the marshland is shallow and bombs do work their way up from the sediment. Keep away from the marsh.
