Annas Bay is a wide, shallow estuary at the mouth of the Skokomish River right at the big bend at the south end of Hood Canal. The bay, which is best paddled at high tide, offers protected water (with the exception of a north to northwest wind) and excellent views of the Olympic Mountains. The land at the margin of the bay is good habitat for various shorebirds, but landing is prohibited as it is owned by the Skokomish Nation. Paddle to Potlach State Park and either retrace your route to Union or cut across the bay if the seas are calm.
