The Goat Creek Trail winds through an old-growth forest with trees up to 8 feet in diameter and passes several scenic waterfalls. About 1 mile in, the trail comes to Cathedral Falls, a straight plunge of nearly 250 feet, and passes behind it for a unique perspective. At 2 miles, take the right fork and continue climbing gently up the valley, passing several more nice waterfalls before coming to a small pond at the bottom of a basin deep in the remote forest. A NW Forest Pass is required to park at the trailhead.
