Long Island in Willapa Bay offers several unique habitats, including extensive tidal flats, an ancient cedar grove, and coastal meadows and forests. A trip around the island in a sea kayak is a great way to see these diverse habitats. There are several camping areas on the island, but no water is available. Paddling in Willapa Bay is really only possible at high tide due to the shallow water and large areas of tidal mudflats. Plan for an afternoon sea-breeze in summer.
