Hiking

This classic beach hike is among the more popular routes in Olympic National Park because of its spectacular scenery and ease of access. There is no real trail to follow other than the contours of this gently sloping sand beach. The highlight of the route is Hole-in-the-Wall, a natural sea arch carved out of the rock by millenia of pounding surf. At low tide, you can walk through it; otherwise, climb to the top of it for an awesome view of the beach and offshore islands. About halfway to Hole-in-the-Wall you must ford Ellen Creek, which can be problematic in the rainy season. Dogs are allowed only from the parking lot to this stream crossing.
